D. C. Taylor Co. Breaks Ground on New Headquarters
D. C. Taylor Co. is excited to begin construction on its new $6 million headquarters facility. An official groundbreaking ceremony took place on the morning of June 30, 2025, at the future home of the Cedar Rapids-based nationwide roofing contractor. Surrounded by Iowa-based employees and representatives from the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, President Brent Taylor offered the following remarks:
“Thank you all for joining us today to celebrate a truly exciting milestone in the history of D. C. Taylor Co. As we break ground on this new building, we’re not just laying a foundation of concrete and steel—we’re building the future of our company, our community, and the industry we proudly serve.
“First, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to our incredible employees. Your dedication, expertise, and hard work have been the backbone of our success. Without your commitment, none of this would be possible. It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention the family members of our employees for their ongoing support of their family member who works for D. C. Taylor Co. To our trusted vendors and partners, thank you for your collaboration and support. You are vital to our mission, and we value the strong relationships we’ve built together. And of course, to our loyal customers, thank you for your confidence in us. Serving you inspires us every day to innovate and improve.
“Finally, I’d like to thank my wife, our boys, and my father, Bill Taylor. Thank you for believing in me and giving me the confidence to lead our family company, which our grandfather, Dudley Claude Taylor, founded over 75 years ago.
“This new facility symbolizes more than growth; it represents our vision for the next 75 years. Our strategy is clear: safety is paramount, and we are relentlessly focused on solving problems for the plant manager. We understand the challenges they face, and we are committed to delivering solutions that make their operations smoother, safer, and more efficient.

Construction is expected to wrap up in late 2026.
