“With over 30 years at D. C. Taylor Co., Chad is a true leader in the roofing industry, managing complex projects with a commitment to quality, safety, and mentorship that sets the standard for excellence,” explained the Roofing Alliance. Rouse has risen through the ranks from Roofing Technician to Project Supervisor and now to Project Manager. He has extensive technical skills and a keen understanding of all aspects of the roof trade, from project planning, staging, safety set-up, tear-off, and repair/reroof/maintenance.  Additionally, he has prioritized all of this while mentoring and developing crew personnel under him into world-class roofers.

Having managed the largest roofing project in D. C. Taylor Co. history, Chad’s leadership was instrumental to its success. “Chad’s ability to communicate effectively may be his best asset. The level of customer service he provides cannot be matched. He treated the project as if it were his facility and always had the best interests of Dot Foods and D. C. Taylor [Co.] in mind with any decisions along the way regarding safety and workmanship,” said Isaac Miller, P.E. at Quincy, Illinois-based Architechnics Inc., in support of Chad’s MVP award nomination.

Rouse possesses an unwavering dedication to jobsite safety, always following OSHA guidelines and D. C. Taylor Co.’s strict safety practices to ensure a safe working environment at the jobsite. “As a result of his proactive approach to safety, and through leading and delegating tailgate trainings, D. C. Taylor Co. had zero injuries while completing the 50,000-hour job. Thousands of runs of live conduit existed above the joints and in the flutes of the roof deck, posing an electrocution hazard when inserting mechanical fasteners. Chad’s innovative approach to spotting and mapping conduits, along with a process of broadcasting the conduit location onto the layers of roofing being installed, turned out to be extremely effective and efficient,” explained Brent Taylor, President of D. C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

D. C. Taylor Co. is proud to have Chad Rouse on our team and grateful to the NRCA and Roofing Alliance for recognizing him as a finalist in this year’s MVP Awards competition.
