D. C. Taylor Co. Finishes 2017 Charitable Campaign
D. C. Taylor Co. was proud to continue the 12 Months of Giving campaign it began in 2016. “Year one we supported about 25 organizations, non-profits, fundraisers, and local sports teams,” says Dana Harvey-Moore, Vice President Administration, D. C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, IA. “This year we surpassed that, giving to more than 35.”
The 12 Months of Giving campaign was launched as a way for the company and its employees to support causes, community organizations, and national non-profits that are accomplishing extraordinary things. “If it matters to the employees, it matters to the company,” says Jana Madsen, Marketing Communications Associate, D. C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, IA.
With four offices and input from employees, Dana and Jana created a calendar of themes to inspire the employees in Cedar Rapids, IA; Barrington, IL; Peoria, AZ; and Concord, CA, to seek out opportunities to volunteer or donate goods, services, or money. Themes ranged from four-legged friends to sexual assault awareness and Alzheimer’s.
Highlights of the 2017 program include:
- A half-day volunteer Habitat for Humanity build attended by a dozen Cedar Rapids employees.
- The assembly of 10 Easter baskets for Phoenix Rescue Mission.
- Speakers from the Alzheimer’s Association’s East Central Iowa Chapter and the Cedar Rapids Police Department (sexual assault defense education).
- Visits from two Deafinitely Dogs’ ambassador service dogs to the Cedar Rapids, IA, office.
- The delivery of 15 frozen turkeys to St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix the week before Thanksgiving.
- Donations to food banks who are supporting the needs of families impacted by Northern California wildfires.
