D. C. Taylor Co. Conducts Winter Training for Crew Personnel

January 19, 2016

Cedar Rapids, IA (January 19, 2016) – D. C. Taylor Co. is pleased to continue its winter training tradition. For three days in early January, crew personnel from the company’s five offices gathered for intense instruction and information. The winter training took place Tuesday, January 5, through Thursday, January 7, and was attended by more than 75 project supervisors, lead men, and administrators.

Highlights from the event include a brainstorming session to gather input for the creation of a formalized Crew Personnel Training and Development Program. As part of documenting a career path for its employees and encouraging every team member to rise to their potential, Sarah Young, Leadership Coach and Trainer at Zing Collaborative, conducted an interactive workshop to help everyone define for themselves the qualities of a true leader.

Project supervisors and lead men were recognized at a banquet for both the unique qualities they each bring to the job and their outstanding commitment to jobsite safety.

Tablets were provided to project supervisors and necessary training was provided to make each team member feel comfortable and confident with the new technology. Goals for the implementation of tablets in the field include improved communication, quicker access to data, and better decision making.

The company’s Director of Environmental Health & Safety Brad Richardson and Project Manager/Safety Manager Raymundo Jimenez provided extensive safety training that included a demo from Kansas City, MO-based Leading Edge Safety.

Representatives from Carlisle SynTec Systems, Luna and Associates, and Gulf Eagle Supply were on hand to present the company with Carlisle’s 500 Hall of Fame Award. This honor is awarded to contractors who have performed 500 Perfect 10 installations of Carlisle SynTec Systems roofing.
