D. C. Taylor Co.’s Ken Parrott Selected as 2016-2017 MVP Finalist
Cedar Rapids, IA (Feb. 1, 2017) – D. C. Taylor Co. is excited to announce that Kenneth Parrott, Project Supervisor, was selected as a finalist in The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress 2016-2017 Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards Program. Parrott was presented with a plaque in mid-January.
Having worked for D. C. Taylor Co. for more than 12 years, Parrott has become a positive example of the rewards of hard work. When his supervisor was let go mid-project, Parrott immediately assumed those responsibilities. “He went from one day being a second man, to the next day being a supervisor,” explains Jon Reiss, Field Office Manager, D. C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
As time went on, the projects Ken was assigned became increasingly more complex. “The more he did the job, the better he got, so the scope and oversight responsibilities grew,” says Brad Conlin, Vice President and Construction Manager, D. C. Taylor Co., Cedar Rapids, Iowa. “Ken has done a good job of setting an example for his crew. He concentrated on himself first so he could model the way everyone else on his crew should behave, setting expectations for performance, conduct, safety, and quality control.”
Over the past two years, Parrott quickly became one of the most trusted and capable project supervisors that D. C. Taylor Co. has. His work has earned the respect of many, including Field Consultant Rusty Winterroth with Cedar Rapids, IA-based Benchmark Inc. who worked with Parrott recently on a Fort Dodge, Iowa, project. “Ken and his crew performed in a professional manner. They provided quality workmanship, a safe job site, and adhered to [the customer’s] needs and requirements,” says Winterroth.
Even the manufacturer of the roofing system applied during that same project gives Parrott a glowing review. “Ken coordinated each of my site visits, and on those occasions, I observed Ken as he explained the work to his crew and helped ensure that they performed their tasks to the best of their ability,” says Darrin Lefeber, District Field Technical Manager, Siplast, Irving, Texas. “He did this with a professional manner. On the final inspection for the project…no punch list items were noted.”
We are very pleased that Parrott has received this well-deserved recognition from The Roofing Industry Alliance for Progress.
