Iowa-Illinois Safety Council Recognizes D. C. Taylor Co.
Cedar Rapids, IA (June 24, 2013) – D.C. Taylor Co. is pleased to accept the Bronze Incident Rate Excellence Award from the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council. In April, during the organization’s 60th Annual Professional Development Conference and Expo, the award was presented for outstanding achievement in accident prevention during the 2012 calendar year.
More than 160 businesses, industries, and government agencies in Iowa and Illinois were recognized with an award for promoting active safety programs and reducing OSHA recordable injuries among
their employees. Applicants need to demonstrate an incident rate lower than the national average for their specific industry in order to qualify for this award. According to the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council, “As a recipient of the Bronze Award, D.C. Taylor Co. achieved an Incident Rate that was equal to or greater than 50 percent of the National Average for their North American Industry Classification System category while remaining under the National Average.”
This is the second year in a row that D.C. Taylor Co. has received the Bronze Award. The company has been recognized by the Iowa-Illinois Safety Council a total of nine times for its performance every year since 2004. “Safety is a crucial part of our culture that is practiced every day on every job,” says Brad Richardson, CSP, Director of Environmental Health and Safety, D.C.
