Meet Dan Traver, Project Lead
When Project Supervisor Jeff Tope is called away, he knows he’s leaving the project in good hands with Dan Traver, Project Lead. “Dan does his job. He works hard,” says Tope. “He runs the crew when I’m gone.” The two have worked together on and off since Dan began his employment at D. C. Taylor Co. “We’re friends. He’s great to work with,” Tope adds. Dan works on Jeff’s CRC1 construction crew, based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.
No. of years roofing: 8
Roofing project you’re most proud of: Cozad, St. Louis, MO
When I’m not roofing, I’m fishing, hiking, watching Cubs games, and fishing more.
My favorite food is surf and turf (lobster and steak).
If I was a superhero, I’d be Batman.
Morning person or night owl? Morning person.
D. C. Taylor Co. is a good place to work because there are so many resources at my disposal. And some of these people are now good friends, not just coworkers. It feels like a big family.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve seen while roofing? There was a guy who robbed a store down the road and was chased on foot toward our jobsite and then caught at a major intersection right below us. There were 20-plus cops with guns drawn and squad cars everywhere. Needless to say, we had to stop and watch it; it was great entertainment.
Throughout 2017, D. C. Taylor Co. will be sharing blog profiles of field personnel each month. We think our people are our most valuable asset. After you meet them, we think you’ll understand why.
