Installation of solar collectors meets strict time constraints set by winery's crush season.

Meridian Vineyard's management had committed to a 1.25 MW solar generation project, but would not allow construction to interfere with winemaking operations. With an approaching crush (harvest) season, Meridian Vineyards needed the performance of a finely tuned team to plan, coordinate, and supervise the construction project. D. C. Taylor Co. was given the responsibility to schedule and manage the project for BPi, which was the Project EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Company. United Coatings was carefully selected to supply the roofing system.

D. C. Taylor Co. completed the reroofing project and installation of sensitive solar collectors in less than 3 months. When developing the project plan, D. C. Taylor Co. understood that proper sequencing of project phases was vital to the timely completion of the reroofing and solar installation. During the investigation and project management process, D. C. Taylor Co. also identified the need for installing permanent fall protection, as well as the need for additional labor resources. Both were incorporated into the project plan.

Putting safety first.
Brad Richardson, CSP and Corporate Director of Environmental Health and Safety at D. C. Taylor Co. visited Project Manager Naum Zelaya and crew at Meridian Vineyards during this project.
